A great concept and an amazing production- a Charles Barkley Basketball / High Opera hybrid. This spot almost didn't even air in the U.S; it was felt at first to be too sophisticated for the US market, above our tastes. When it did however, it won its share of awards. We carved a huge Atlas figure out of polyurethane foam, supporting a slab of rock upon which the game's basketball hoop was mounted. On the day of shooting, a statue shatter effect at the spot's climax was decided on and we built a quick stand-in Altas copy to shatter.
