The Los Angeles / Nagoya Friendship monument was created back in 1984. The American Eagle at the top is bronze, created with the lost wax casting process. The stand is cement with sandblast exposed aggregate. The base is comprised of a five pointed star, with the hand prints of movie stars taken from Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood in each point of the star- Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable, Gregory Peck, Julie Andrews, and Charlton Heston.
I worked for the sculptor Brett Livingstone-Strong to create the monument.
I designed the base elements, created the working blueprints, created archival, silicone rubber molds of the movie star hand prints, and supervised technical processes involved in its creation.
